Stéphane Halleux, born in 1971 in Belgium, is a sculptor whose work lies at the crossroads of figuration and imagination. He trained at the École Supérieure des Arts de Saint-Luc in Liège, where he developed a strong interest in volume, material, and the construction of form.
His work gives rise to figures that are both unsettling and deeply human. Through his sculptures, he explores zones of tension between reality and imagination, the familiar and the strange, inviting the viewer into a sensitive and introspective experience.His characters appear inhabited by a silent history.
The careful attention paid to detail, texture, and proportion lends the works a strong narrative power, in which each piece becomes a fragment of a world unto itself. His work questions the human condition and memory. He favors a poetic approach, sometimes tinged with irony or melancholy, leaving great freedom of interpretation to the viewer.
